2012 Peugeot 208 GTi CONCEPT
Further to the spy shots posted last month Peugeot have now taken the wraps off a concept car that gives a firm indication of how the finished 208 GTi will look when its launched early 2013. The car you see here will only differ in it minor details when it reaches showrooms and aims to recapture the appeal of the iconic 205 GTi of the 1980s. Styling changes over the standard 208 include a larger, lower front bumper with LED headlight units and a front grill textured with silver highlights and a retro England flag featuring on the lower section. The GTi boasts stylish 18" alloy wheels with wider 36mm wider tracks all round and a lowered ride height giving the car a squat stance. Red "GTi" badging on the c-pillar is a further nod to the original 205 GTi and at the rear a subtle spoiler and prominent exhaust set the GTi apart. Under the bonnet the proved 1.6 16x 200 THP engine found in the RCZ will feature giving the car an impressive 0-60mph time of around 7 seconds. Inside the concept features red and black detailing and a dashboard clad with alcantara, some of these details are likely to make production but the basic architecture is shared with the rest of the 208 range.

2013 Fiat 500L
Today Fiat have released first pictures of the upcoming 500L.Although its not entirely clear the car is most likely based on a stretched Panda Platform. Essentially a mini-mpv based around styling cues from the hatchback 500 the 500L will rival the Citroen C3 Picasso and Vauxhall Meriva. The car is said to offer competitive room in the cabin for 5 passengers and is rumoured to eventually be available in a 7 seat format. Further details should be revealed in the coming months along with interior pictures.
